Agent Letter Desk

Connect Agent Letter Desk to ChatGPT once. Then ChatGPT writes the letter with you. You check the preview and the price, and you say yes. We print the letter, put it in an envelope and hand it to the post in your name.

Registered mail is available to recipients in the United States, Germany, Belgium and Spain. To the other 27 countries we send a standard letter, and the preview tells you so before you approve.

How it works

  1. Connect once. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, select Add, then "Add custom MCP server". Paste https://agentletterdesk.com/mcp and select Create. Our sign-in page opens. Sign in with Google or with a code that we send by e-mail. Enter your full name once, then allow the access.
  2. Ask. Tell ChatGPT who gets the letter, the address and what the letter must say. ChatGPT asks for anything that is missing, such as an account number or a date.
  3. Check the preview and the price. ChatGPT shows a link to the PDF preview, the recipient, the postal service, what that service records and the price. The PDF is exactly what we print.
  4. Say yes. ChatGPT may ask you to confirm once more ("Allow once"). Then we print and post the letter.

Example request:

Send a registered letter to my landlord in Germany. The heating in my flat has not worked since Monday. Ask for a repair within two weeks. My landlord has no e-mail address; here is the postal address.

OpenAI decides which ChatGPT plans can add a custom MCP server. When we checked on 13 October 2026, it worked on a Free plan.

What our server enforces

These rules are checked by our server, not only by ChatGPT:

  • No letter goes out without a preview and a price.
  • The send must match the price and the recipient that you saw.
  • A send that comes seconds after the preview is refused. A person must have time to read.
  • The same letter is not sent twice by mistake.
  • The sender name comes from your account. ChatGPT cannot change it.

Which service fits

ServiceWhat the post recordsWhere
Standard letterThe status shows when the letter was handed to the post. The post does not record the delivery. All 31 countries (US: USPS First-Class Mail)
Registered letterDeutsche Post records the drop into the mailbox, without the recipient's signature. On its own, not proof of delivery in court (see below).Germany (Einschreiben Einwurf, Deutsche Post)
Registered letterbpost records the posting and the delivery. There is no signature. On its own, the receipt is proof of posting, not proof of delivery. Proof of delivery needs an acknowledgement of receipt (avis de réception). We do not offer it yet.Belgium (bpost recommandé / aangetekend)
Registered letter with signatureThe post records the delivery and the recipient's signature.Spain (Correos carta certificada)
Certified Mail with return receiptUSPS records the delivery and the signature. You can request the signed return receipt with the tracking number at usps.com.United States (USPS Certified Mail with electronic return receipt)

What the German Einschreiben Einwurf proves in court. Deutsche Post records that the carrier put the letter into the mailbox. On its own, that is not firm proof of delivery: since May 2026, the modernised Einwurf-Einschreiben gives no prima facie proof of delivery, because the carrier confirms the drop on the scanner before putting the letter in (Federal Labour Court, 7 May 2026, 2 AZR 184/25, in German). In 2025 the court already held that the posting receipt and the online tracking status are not enough (2 AZR 68/24). We cannot fetch the post's delivery record for you yet. Where delivery must be proven, for example for a dismissal, people in Germany have a messenger deliver the letter as a witness, or have a bailiff serve it (§ 132 BGB).

When a registered letter is worth it

Many notices work by e-mail or with an online button. A registered letter is worth it when:

  • the recipient has no e-mail address or does not answer it,
  • you may have to prove that your notice arrived, for example before a deadline,
  • a law or the recipient asks for a letter.

A standard letter is enough when you only need the letter to be sent. More: When a letter is the right choice (and when e-mail is enough).

Letters we cannot send

Some letters need your handwritten signature, for example ending a job or a flat lease in Germany. Our letters carry your typed name, not a signature. For these, let ChatGPT write the text, then print, sign and post the letter yourself.

There is no registered letter to Austria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Italy or the other countries that are not named above. Our print partner in Europe (Pingen) has no registered product for most of them; for Switzerland, France and Luxembourg we have not added one yet. If you need a record of the delivery in one of these countries, also send the letter as registered mail at a post office yourself.

Price

The price is the full price for printing, envelope and postage. You pay the price that you approved: our server refuses a send with any other price.

Longer letters cost more. The price depends on the country, the service and the number of pages; the preview shows the full price before you approve.

Enclosures, such as a copy of a contract, add pages. You upload them on a page that ChatGPT links to (PDF, JPEG or PNG, up to 3 files). A US letter can have at most 5 pages, a European letter 10 (Netherlands: 7).

Delivery time

  • Europe: our print partner prints the letter and hands it to the post on the same or the next business day, depending on the time of your order. Then the post needs its usual time in business days: Germany 1, Belgium 1–2, Spain 2–4, Austria 1. The usual time for every other country is in the table of destinations.
  • United States: the letter is printed within 2 business days. USPS then needs about 3–5 business days.

These are the usual times of the post, not guarantees.

What you get afterwards

  • Status: ask ChatGPT at any time. It shows where the letter is: accepted, printing, or handed to the post. It also shows "undeliverable" if the post reports that it could not deliver the letter.
  • Tracking number: for registered mail, as soon as the post gives one. With it, you follow the delivery on the post's website.
  • A record of your send: what you approved, when, and for which price.
  • Cancel: you can stop a letter until it is printed.
  • Planned: an e-mail at each step, and the post's delivery receipt where the post provides one.

If the post cannot deliver a letter in Europe, it destroys the letter. The letter does not come back to you. The status shows "undeliverable".

FAQ

Is this a real registered letter?

Yes. It is the post's own product: Einschreiben Einwurf from Deutsche Post, registered mail from bpost, carta certificada from Correos, or Certified Mail from USPS. We print the letter and hand it to the post. We are not the post.

Can I send a registered letter to Austria?

No. Our print partner has no registered product inside Austria. We send a Premium Brief from Austrian Post, usually delivered the next business day, without tracking. If you need a record of the delivery, also send the letter as Einschreiben at a post office yourself.

Does the letter carry my signature?

No. The letter carries your typed name, not a handwritten signature. Where a law or a contract asks for a signed letter, our letter is not enough: print, sign and post that letter yourself.

Who writes the letter: ChatGPT or Agent Letter Desk?

ChatGPT writes it with you. For common letters, our guides give ChatGPT an example based on an official sample, for example from the US Federal Trade Commission or a German consumer advice centre. Our server checks the letter, lays it out, prices it and sends it. It does not write it.

Can I send from outside the US?

To Europe, yes: the sender can live in any of 33 countries. A letter to the United States needs a sender address in the United States, because USPS accepts only a US return address.

What happens to my letter text?

We keep it only until the letter reaches a final state, for example sent or cancelled. Then we delete it. We do not keep the PDF. Our privacy policy explains what the print partners keep.
